A nifty idea from a listener at Wizards of Technology.

In episode 57 (9.6.2005) a reader suggests a standard for declaring open wifi.

For all who want to share their Wifi, always start your ID name with OPEN in the name like mine is OPENWilsonWiFi. For those who don’t want people on theirs, if they can rename, they can password protect too so it would be assumed that if it does not have OPEN at the front, it’s only open because the user is a novice and use at your own risk. Also if you don’t want yours open to everyone who goes by, but just your neighbors you know, give them the password.

I think this is a great idea just wanted to do my little bit of getting the word out.
