I finally spent money on iTunes Music Store

(And a MarsEdit beta test posting.)

Many moons ago I asked for recommendations on how to best spend my free Slurpee iTunes credits.

I finally decided to get Wilco’s Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Apparently, this is an “essential,” so I’ve been lax in not getting it before now. And I have to admit that the title grabbed my attention since those are all Nato names given to Soviet submarine classes, which you may or may not know is something that interests me.

  • Yankee - Nuclear Ballistic/Cruise Missile sub
  • Hotel - Nuclear Ballistic Missile sub
  • Foxtrot - Diesel-Electric Patrol sub

For his winning suggestion, Nick earns a beer next time we’re both in Denver since the free credits I had expired. That means I left a few songs on the table, too, dang it.

The rest of the suggestions include no-brainers (i.e., I should already have them) and some others that look interesting. If you’re looking for a non-exhaustive music recommendation list, it’s as good a place to start as any.

For a bonus beer, I’ll recommend Wilco’s live CD “Kicking Television.”
